About us

Who we are.And who we are not

HOM International is a community of people who want to live with God consciously, deeply and together, in English, in Warsaw. We are a separate church with our own story, and we share our roots and our identity with HOM Church. Draft, for review

In short

Why “House of Miracles”

HOM stands for House of Miracles. The name is not a promise of spectacular events. It is a statement about people. Every person who comes through our door, whatever their country, background or story, was created by God. That alone makes them a miracle.

We want to be a house where that is recognised: where you are seen as someone God made and loves, not as a visitor to be counted. And we want to live it, in how we welcome, how we listen and how we share our lives. Draft, for review

A church of relationships, not events

We do not build the church on events or on a stage. We build it on relationships: real, honest, lived out in everyday life. A key part of our life are home groups that meet in flats and houses to pray, share life, get to know God and support each other.

We want to be a church that makes room for people, not for a programme. We do not organise ministries to fill a structure. We believe service grows from calling, and our aim is to help people discover and develop what God calls them to.

Open to the Holy Spirit, allergic to pretending

We are open to the work of the Holy Spirit and expect his presence. At the same time we do not want to pretend or create pressure. We believe in the supernatural, but not for show. We want to be a church where you can grow in truth and freedom, also when something is still a process.

Where we belong

Together with HOM Church we come from the evangelical stream of Christianity. [TODO: confirm: is HOM International formally part of Kościół Boży w Chrystusie (Church of God in Christ in Poland), like HOM Church? If yes, one sentence about the denomination]

Vision and values

Seven things we hold on to.Shared with HOM Church

Draft translation — confirm these values are shared word for word

  1. Close to God, every day

Faith is not an add-on to life. It is the foundation. We build our lives around a relationship with God, not around programmes or events. We look for his presence every day, not only on Sunday, and we believe prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit matter in every decision.

  2. Real and simple, not a show

We are not after the wow effect. We are after the truth. We talk about God in simple, understandable words, without religious language. Honest worship can happen anywhere, even with one guitar. We do not need a stage or lights to meet God. We need his presence.

  3. Growing, together

Faith is a road, not a starting point. We help each other grow: spiritually, emotionally, in everyday life. Discipleship is not a course. It is a relationship, a shared road where we learn from Jesus and from each other. There are no passive believers.

  4. A community, not a stage

We do not build around one person. We build around people. Community means relationships, not programmes. We want to know each other, support each other and be there for each other. A team of leaders makes decisions together. Leaders are not celebrities; their job is to help others grow and serve. How we live it: four spaces where we belong.

  5. A church for the city, not for itself

The church exists to serve others. We want to reach people who do not know God yet, through relationships, action and presence in the city. We help practically where we can. We serve not only our own, but people from other countries, immigrants, the lonely and those in need.

  6. Flexible and obedient, not rigid

We have no ready-made templates. We want to listen to God and adapt to real needs. We do not copy one model of church. We do not start ministries if there are no people for them. If something does not work, we can stop it.

  7. The whole of life with God

Faith touches every area of life. We want to live fully, not for ourselves but for God. We talk about repentance, new life, baptism and the leading of the Spirit as everyday reality, not theory. We look at life from the perspective of eternity; we know where we are going.

Leadership team

Led by a team. Not by one person

Decisions are made together, with respect for each other and for what God has placed in each of us. Leaders are not the centre of the church. Their job is to help others grow and serve. Draft, for review

Shared roots

One story, two churches.HOM Church and HOM International

HOM International grew out of HOM Church, a Polish church in Warsaw that started in 2025 from two families with the same calling. We share one identity, one set of values and one hope for the city. We are two churches because we speak two languages, not because we went separate ways. Draft wording — review (see docs/phase-1-discovery.md, question C5)
